Who am I? A question we all seek to answer yet struggle to truly find. I'll try my best in this synopsis because my blog depends on it. My name is Madeleine Smith. I was born to Marcy and Jeff Smith; oldest and only sister to Jeffrey and Wesley. I was born in Washington, moved to North Carolina, then moved to Florida, and now reside in Virginia. I'm a UNC Chapel Hill Alumni (GO HEELS) and whilst there I majored in Chemistry. Currently I'm a chemist working in the paints and coatings industry. By day I research and formulate, by night I mix drinks... what a combo. I learned to drink from my dad AKA I have the drink preferences of an old man (ie. bourbon, gin, IPAs are my favs). I've been shaking martinis and helping my dad make beer since before I can remember. Enjoying a drink is in the Smith blood. I'm just taking it to a whole new level by blogging about it. I don't really have any set goals for the blog aspect of this adventure besides creating a way of tracking my progress and giving me something fun to do in my "ample" free time. I also don't anticipate any readers except perhaps my mom (hiii Mom) but that's ok. This is for me and I'm excited to start and finish something and create this space to solidify the journey.
