INTRODUCTION

To make 1 specialty beverage

1 1/4 ounce Kahlua

1 1/4 ounce Oat Milk

1 1/4 ounce vodka

Caramel sauce

Sugar in the raw

Ice

A cocktail glass of your choosing

PROCEDURE

Dip the glass into the caramel sauce or find some way to coat the rim of the glass and inside down the side of the glass if you desire. Pack the caramel rim with sugar in the raw, this adds texture and helps keep the caramel in its place preventing less drippage down the outside of the glass. Add the Kahlua, Oat Milk, and Vodka to a mixing glass. Place a top on the mixing glass as well as 6-8 ice cubes. Shake vigorously 10 times at least or more or less depending on how cold you want the beverage to be. Place a strainer on top of the mixer and pour the contents into the prepared glass. Fill the glass to the brim with ice and enjoy!!

RESULTS

WARNING - This drink is insanely good and very easy to chug. It's incredibly smooth and the caramel rim keeps you coming back for more. I have to say, this is the perfect dessert beverage, not too strong in the coffee flavors and beautifully decadent, if you're looking for a show stopper, look no further.

The homemade caramel was worth the time, it's not exactly difficult to make just time consuming, lots of stirring and waiting for sugar to melt (not burn - very important to distinguish). I can't remember the exact recipe I did but it was something like 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup oat milk (all recipes call for cream or fatty milk but guess what I used oat milk and I think it turned out just fine), 6 tablespoons butter, and some salt. Essentially you stir the sugar on medium heat until it's completely melted and turns color (took me about 30 mins) then add the butter (cut up into pieces), stir until incorporated. Add the milk little by little (best if at room temperature) because it will bubble up with each addition, once completely added let boil for 1 minute. Remove from the heat and stir in the salt (I did a few grinds, taste it and salt to preference). Right off the stove it's runnier and easy to drip down the glass, after storing in the fridge it will slightly solidify, just microwave to make it easier to pour and work with. After making the caramel, I took my glass dipped it straight into the pot, then from there coated the rim in sugar in the raw for some added crunch and texture. I also spooned some of the caramel and let it drip down the inside of the glass for extra decor. I then crafted the drink, after a quick shake, poured it into the prepared glass and thoroughly enjoyed. Best Halloween "candy" ever :)
