INTRODUCTION
To make 1 cocktail
1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
1/2 ounce dry vermouth
2 ounces blended whisky
3 to 4 ice cubes
1 strip orange or lemon peel
A 4-ounce cocktail glass, chilled
PROCEDURE
Combine the sweet and dry vermouths, the whiskey and the ice cubes in a mixing glass and stir together gently. Place a strainer over the top of the mixing glass and pour into the chilled cocktail glass. Twist the orange or lemon peel over the glass to release its oil, and add it to the drink.
RESULTS

A Manhattan is one of my favorite drinks and my grandmother's as well, perhaps the taste for it has been inherited. This drink was good but I have to go with 4 out of 5 because a "normal" Manhattan is a 5 out of 5 for me. I like it a bit sweeter so I think the dry vermouth was good and different but I like just straight one ounce of sweet vermouth and I missed the cherry and I love to add a little cherry juice. So anyways very good and I thoroughly enjoyed it but not my defeminations of perfection ;)
In our images we have sweet vermouth, dry vermouth, Kentucky Gentleman's (best bang for your buck bourbon whiskey), plentyyyy of ice, and a lovely orange. I added the vermouths (1 tablespoon is equivalent to 1/2 ounce), then the bourbon (I went to the top of the owl for 2 ounces), added the ice, gave it a gentle stir, then orange, and iced to the top per my preference. And voila, the perfect Manhattan. Delicious!
DISCUSSION
Not much to discuss today. I do love what this is doing to my nightly routine. I usually drink the same old same old, I know what I like and I just cycle through the 4 - 5 go-tos I have. Now I have to put some thought into it. I'm pushed out of my comfort zone a bit. Today was the first time I've ever bought dry vermouth because my dad never bought it so I didn't learn to. I like it, I'm excited to use it again (also it was super cheap which made me happy). The guy at the ABC store told me about a good taco place called Don't Look Back. He was from Florida as well. Maybe a sign for my life at the moment, don't look back. Anyways, from me to you, cheers and have a wonderful night!
